LG announced New Android Optimus LTE Tag phone
First it was the super reliable smartphones which conquered the market replacing old bar form factor model ordinary handsets. Now, people go for smartphones with better functionality and larger displays not to mention a great operating system like Google’s Android mobile OS. Smartphone manufacturers are apparently focusing on features like big high resolution displays, LTE technology etc on their handsets.
Speaking about LTE technology, LG seems to be at the forefront, launching LTE enabled smartphones, of which the most popular being Optimus LTE. It’s been quite apparent that the Optimus series from LG is a reply to the challenge posed by the popular Samsung Galaxy series. Although the Galaxy series remains dominant, LG is putting up a good fight launching more and more additions to the Optimus series.
The Mobile World Congress, a much anticipated event in a year, this time is going to be the launching centre of a number of great phones from popular manufacturers like LG, Huawei and many others. It became pretty clear with early launch of LG Optimus Vu that LG doesn’t want to wait till MWC to launch their cool new handset. Now they have also announced a new handset, a successor to the Optimus LTE, named as Optimus LTE Tag.
In addition to LTE technology, the LTE Tag also comes with NFC enabled. There will be a few other tags in LTE Tag as well, which LG terms as Tag Plus. After detecting NFC tags with the LG LTE Tag, the user can make use of customization options like launching SatNav app after detecting a car tag, remotely activating the WiFi in the user’s office, set up alarms and alerts for the next day etc.
Reports claim many similarities between LG Tag Plus and Sony Smart tags. It has also been reported that along with LG Optimus LTE Tag, the users will also receive sheets of LG Tags Plus, of which a few would be predefined and the rest would be blank so as to allow the users to make their own customization. The users can customize the functionality of blank tags.
The LG Optimus LTE Tag is supposedly smaller than LG Optimus LTE, and the latter also featured the NFC.Features of LTE Tag
Android v2.3 Gingerbread Operating system
1.2 GHz dual-core processor
4.3 inch IPS LCD display
MHL Port
5 Megapixel camera
650 nits of brightness
A few details aren’t yet announced, and LG Optimus LTE Tag is expected to be launched in the US as well, as Optimus LTE was also made available in the US at the time just after its official launch.-
