When Sony launched Xperia Z Ultra few months back, it was impossible to believe that there would a market for such devices. Now, the South Korean giant LG, who is all set to formally launch G2 in India later this month , may be planning to announce Sony Xperia Z Ultra competitor. Yes, you heard it right!
LG already have two full HD phablets under its portfolio: Optimus G Pro and G2. According to AndroidSaS, LG is planning a large sized that would be equivalent to Sony Xperia Z Ultra in terms of screen size. The Xperia Z Ultra has a 6.4-inch Triluminous display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 342ppi. Based upon rumors, LG made phablet will have same 6.4-inch FHD display but with higher 418ppi.
Moreover, the report specifies internal specifications too. With Samsung already launched 3GB ducked Galaxy Note 3, South Korean OEM LG is said to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM. The forthcoming gigantic phablet will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat. In the camera department, we will see an 8-mega pixel rear facing camera LED Flash light. As of now details are thin in respect to LG's upcoming 6.4-inch phablet. We expect LG to announce its answer to Xperia Z Ultra at the CES 2014.
Let's not forget that LG is not alone who is said to announce a giant phablet device in the coming days. Chinese major Huawei is also said to be working on a 6-inch FHD phablet. The rumored device is believed to be a successor to Ascend Mate. On the other hand Nokia Lumia 1520 has already gained a reputation of true Xperia Z Ultra killer. The much hyped phone will most likely to be announced in October 2013. The handset will have a 6-inch FHD display. It is said to be the first handset running on Windows Phone 8 GDR3. Reportedly, the Lumia 1520 would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM with expandable storage. The device is said to have a 20MP PureView camera too.
