The International Mobile World Congress 2014 has just started the era of LTE supported smartphones it seems. Almost all the smartphones that were launched at day one, the most important event for the telecom industries featured the 4G LTE support except the Nokia X series of smartphones. While devices from HTC, Alcatel, Sony and Samsung also feature the support.
South Korea's second best smartphone maker LG, along with the G Pro 2, G2 mini And L Series III Budget Smartphones, also launched another pair of smartphones in a brand new F series dubbed as LG F70 and LG F90 at the MWC 2014, taking place in Barcelona, Spain.
These two devices are entry level Android smartphones with LTE connectivity. Thus these devices will in fact stand against all the latest LTE supported mid-range smartphones this year. Moreover, these smartphones share a similar design of the LG L series with rounded corners and a physical home button.
Going by the specs, the LG F70 comes with a 4.5-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with a 1 GB RAM. However, the internal storage capacity rests at 4GB but can be expanded via microSD card. An average 5MP rear camera and VGA front facing shooter has been used in the device and Android 4.4 KitKat comes out of the box. Connectivity options include LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS. The device which measures 127.2 x 66.4 x 10.0mm draws its energy from a 2440mAh battery.
On the other hand, the LG F90 smartphone is a slightly bigger variant which features a 4.7inch qHD (540×960 pixels) display. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The imaging side will be taken care by an 8MP rear camera and VGA front facing snapper. Similar to the smaller variant, this one also comes with the same 4GB internal storage with microSD card slot, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. However, this one comes with a better battery.
Both the LG F70 and F90 will come with LG's software suite that includes Q-Slide apps and other multi-tasking features. However, looking at the specs, these smartphones will be two of the most affordable LTE network supported smartphones.
