LG has recently announced the world's slimmest Full HD LCD panel for smartphones today. The LCD display measures 5.2-inch diagonally and comes with a staggering 2.2mm thin profile featuring 2.3mm thin bezel.
The Optimus G Pro features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS curved glass display while the 5.2-inch display that was unveiled today is based on Advanced One-Glass-Solution (OGS) which reduces the thickness of the display. It also uses flexible circuits between the panel and touch film that provides 30 percent fewer lines on the panel. This latest technology also adds to the improved touch screen experience and obviously it is targeted for premium mobile devices.
Moreover, there is a pretty thick chance of Optimus G2 coming with this world's thinnest display offering a 5.2-inch screen and full HD resolution next month.
Further, the display utilizes 1,080 x 1,920 pixels consisting of Red, Green, Blue (RGB) sub-pixels and has a maximum brightness of 535 nits, better than the current Full HD LCD panels. The contrast in real-life surroundings with Ambient Contrast Ratio rates at 3.74:1 based on 10,000 lux and offers better visibility in outdoor sunlight conditions. LG says that it would also offer better grip-ability and a superior viewing experience.
In fact, LG Display's new panel is both slimmest and narrowest among other existing Full HD LCD panels designed for mobile devices. The display is also claimed to be lighter in weight.
The story about LG's display technology doesn't end here because previously we have also seen LG's flexible display. Moreover, the display king has a lot in its pocket it seems and surely more are there in the pipeline.
Leaving the high end devices, LG's Optimus L4 2 dual is recently made available online in India at Rs. 8,990.
