LG G Pro 2 Hands On Review: First Look
LG G Pro 2: Camera
Talking about its imaging power, the G Pro 2 won't disappoint you. The device incorporates a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS + feature. In our brief time spent, we tried to click as many pictures. The phone's camera is at par with the LG G2. Moreover, the G Pro 2 camera is capable of recording videos in 4K Ultra HD resolution. Also, now you shoot videos in slow-motion (120fps) as well.
The handset's front-facing camera is so much improved over other competing high-end handsets. Surprisingly, the 2.1MP front-facing camera comes with its own LED Flash.
LG G Pro 2: Software
The G Pro 2 runs Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box. You will also notice LG's own UX User interface (UI) on top of it. LG surely needs to work hard on improving its UI. Back in 2013, LG introduced KnockOn feature which would allow you to wake up the phone just by tapping on the screen. In 2014, LG announced KnockCode, which allowed you to choose from a number of patterns with which you can unlock your phone. LG says there are more than 80,000 different combinations possible.
LG G Pro 2: Last word
LG has come a long way from the Optimus G Pro to G Pro 2. We think that the success of G2 has inspired LG to focus on simple and elegant looking handsets. Though, we would have expected LG to add a fingerprint sensor on the G Pro 2. Still we believe that the G Pro 2 is a solid piece of hardware. LG hasn't revealed the India price of G Pro 2 just yet. Being a high-end device, the G Pro 2 is expected to be priced on a premium side. We assume that the demoed phone at LG Tech Show 2014 was a 4G LTE capable device. If LG announces a 4G LTE capable G Pro 2, then be prepared to shell out cash close to Rs. 50,000.
