Among the first three Android Wear powered smartwatches, LG has become the first one to be available both on online and physical retail stores. However, Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch are both available via Google Play store.
Anyways, LG has officially confirmed that G Watch will be available both online as well as in physical stores in twelve countries, including - Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Spain, South Korea, United Kingdom, and United States. While it will be up for grabs from physical retailers in fifteen countries, among which include Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Singapore and New Zealand. The company noted that the G Watch price will be announced locally in each market.
"As one of the first Android Wear devices to market, we see this as the beginning of a long-term commitment to making wearables running Android Wear a household name," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "We're confident that once consumers see how useful and compelling LG G Watch can be, it will be integrated into their daily lives, just as smartphone have done."
Initially unveiled back in March. The LG G Watch, went up for pre-order at Rs. 14,999 via Google Play India within hours of Google's I/O 2014 Keynote address. The Samsung Gear Live on the other hand, also went on pre-order earlier this month at Rs. 15,900 via Google Play.
LG G Watch: Key Specifications
LG G Watch sports a 1.65-inch IPS (280x280 pixels) always-on display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. It comes with an IP67 rating with dust and water resistance. Other specs include: 4GB built-in storage, 512MB of RAM, a 400mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and a 9-axis sensor. It measures 37.9x46.5x9.95mm, and weighs in at 63 grams and is offered in Black Titan and White Gold color variants.
