LG G2 India launch Set For September 30: Top 6 Hard Hitting Smartphone Rivals
LG India is all set to launch flagship G2 on September 30 in India. We've received a press invitation for LG's G2 launch last evening. The text from the press invite reads "Block this date to witness the launch of LG's revolutionary new smartphone!"
In fact, GizBot predicted LG G2 India release in the first week of this month. We were told that LG G2 could be announced in India in the last week of September or first week of October. We were also told that the Indian variant of LG G2 would not feature wireless charging facility. Our sources now reveals that the 32GB version of LG G2 to cost Rs 45,000.
In the month of September, we've seen the coming of flagship smartphones from the likes of Sony and Samsung. LG's newest handset - G2 is set to compete against Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z1. Besides LG G2, Nokia is also preparing to launch much anticipated Lumia 1020 in the Indian market.
With flagship G2, LG aims to target Sony Xperia Z1 and Galaxy Note 3. Earlier this week Sony stunned consumers by pricing Xperia Z1 at Rs 44,990. Some of the online shopping sites are already selling the device for Rs 42,990. On the other hand, Samsung did an unusual thing; the Galaxy Note 3 is quite an expensive deal. At Rs 49,900, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 we'll be a tough sell due to the fact that rival company Sony is charging Rs 4910 less and more importantly both handsets have beefy internals.
The success of LG G2 is dependent on Word-of-Mouth publicity. If LG is planning to retail G2 at Rs 42,500, more chances of the success are guaranteed.
The LG G2 packs a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS Super LCD2 display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 443 ppi. It is powered by a 2.26GHz quad-core processor powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal memory. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box.
There's a 13-mega pixel rear facing camera at the back with advance imaging optics including Optical image stabilization (OIS) feature with Auto Focus and LED Flashlight. Also add a 2.1-mega pixel front facing camera.
The phone measures 8.9mm thick in terms of thickness. Other connectivity options include: 4G LTE-Advanced connectivity, IR Blaster, a 3000mAh Li Ion battery, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, NFC, a mini USB 2.0, amongst other features.
LG G2 is blessed with a unique design. The G2 is a button less handset with just one single power button placed at the rear back beneath camera module.
LG says "The unique Rear Key concept came from the realization when studying users that the larger the phone became, the more difficult it was to properly access the side keys. Moving the main buttons to the back of the phone gave users more control since this place was where individuals' index fingers are naturally located".
The camera features advanced OIS (Optical image stabilization) feature, which actually reduce the blur by a disturbing movement. The camera lens is covered with anti-fingerprint coating.
The G2 also houses Stereo Hi-Fi like sound quality. It's the only handset with support for 24bit, 192kHz audio output.
LG G2 also comes with variety of enhanced software additions: Answer Me, Plug & Pop, Text Link, QuickRemote, Slide Aside and Guest mode.
We've prepared a list of top rival handsets. Take a look closer and then decided your next purchase. LG G2 is yet to be made available in India, so it would be really tough to tell whether the device is really worth your attention or not. We'll be covering LG G2 event. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!
