LG has been in the forefront when it comes to innovative devices. Just last week, the company announced its high-end handset, the G Pro 2. Today, LG brings its much hyped Android-based phone, the G2 mini. Yes, you heard it right. The LG G2 mini, a compact version of award winning G2, has been made official just ahead of MWC 2014.
The South Korean giant LG announced the highlighted specifications of G2 mini, alongside the retail availability of the device. According to LG, the G2 mini will be rollout in March with 3G Dual SIM models in CIS countries, followed soon by major markets in the Middle East, Latin America and Asia--including Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan--and Europe. The phone will be made available in single/dual SIM, 3G/4G LTE and four vibrant color options, among others.
"The G2 mini is all about bringing the best user experience of the G2 to a more compact, mid-tier device, giving millions of customers the opportunity to benefit from the LG premium experience," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "This device offers the perfect balance of modern design and practical UX in a compact package without compromising performance."
LG G2 mini : Highlighted Specifications
The LG G2 mini, as the name suggests, has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display having a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Talking about its internal hardware, the G2 mini will allow users to choose the device in two hardware variants: 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Quad-Core MSM8926 (LTE) /3G or the 1.7GHz Nvidia Quad Core Tegra 4i (LTE version)
The makers behind the G2 mini have added 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be later expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card slot.
On the rear-back, the G2 mini comes with an 8-MP a 13-MP (Nvidia Tegra version) shooter on the back with Auto Focus and a single LED flash. The rear-facing camera can record videos in Full HD (1080p). There's a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera too.
All the G2 mini variants feature a large 2,440mAh battery fitted inside. The G2 mini runs Android 4.4 Kitkat of the box.
The mid-tier phone features user-friendly UX features found in LG's premium G Series flagship models, such as Guest Mode, Plug & Pop, Clip Tray and Capture Plus.
