LG myTouch models out

Smartphones are quite the rage now. They’ve become hugely popular with not only business executives but people from all sections of the society. A major factor contributing to this is the wide price range. Smartphones are now available for quite affordable prices while there are also the high end versions. Carriers are advertising simple smartphones that would be ideal for users making the first steps into smartphone territory.

Two new LG smartphones have been revealed. These will be available from November in US market. Running on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, the new smartphones are the LG myTouch and the LG myTouch Q. While LG myTouch is a touch-screen phone, myTouch Q has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

myTouch and myTouch Q are quite attractive with their slim design, while they’re also user-friendly and easy to learn. Contributing to this is the refreshing home screen that isn’t cluttered with too many icons. There is also the Enhanced App Launcher and Genius Button.

To help users get to learn the smartphone faster, you have the tips widget, tips application and a really simple setup. It’s easy to set up a social media account. Other features include preloaded entertainment features, the GPS providing detailed directions, etc. These phones appear to be aimed at those purchasing a smartphone for the first time.

T-Mobile myTouch Smartphones are powered by 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Scorpion processor. While myTouch Q features a 5-megapixel camera for taking still shots, video recording with a resolution of 720 pixels at the rate of 30 fps and LED flash with auto-focus, myTouch touchscreen model offers the camera and video recording without flash. The latter has a front facing camera too. Both have 512MB RAM, 2GB ROM internal memory and 32 GB expandable memory through microSD card slot.

LG myTouch Smartphones have a rechargeable 1500 mAh Li-ion removable battery providing up to 3.3 hours of talk-time in GSM in myTouch Q and up to 4.02 hours of talk-time in GSM with myTouch. LG myTouch Q has a standby time of up to 280 hours while myTouch offers up to 312.5 hours. The charger is included in the packing, but you can also charge through your computer’s USB port.

Both LG myTouch Smartphones support 4G connectivity with the T-Mobile 4G network. With 4G speeds you can stream through videos and other media faster, download content quickly and browse the web in a smoother and more enjoyable manner. myTouch and myTouch Q price range in Indian market is yet to get disclosed.
