LG Nexus 4 Arrives at Rs 25990: 5 Hot Selling Smartphones To Face Big Challenge in India

Android powered Google Nexus 4 after it's first announcement on October 2012 went on sale during November 2013 in US. But the phone was out of stock in the US market just within the 5 minutes of it's arrival. Many people charged on Google then saying that the company was not able to meet the demand of this phone.

Designed collaboratively by LG and Google, Nexus 4, the newest smartphone in the Nexus line-up from Google, was officially announced today for availability in India. The LG's Nexus 4 is priced at Rs 25, 999 and will be available at selected LG exclusive brand shops and it is already available at e-commerce sectors at the same price.

In US the Nexus 4 is available at a price of $299 for 8GB and $349 for 16GB (unlocked), while in India, the 16GB model has been launched at Rs. 25,990. Talking about the specifications, the LG Google Nexus 4 comes with the 4.7 inches that gives 318 ppi pixel density and the resolution of WXGA 768 x 1280 pixels. The display features True HD IPS Plus capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and is protected by Gorilla Glass 2.

The device runs on (Quad Core) Qualcomm SnapdragonTM S4 Pro Krait CPU that is clocked to 1.5 GHz adn backed up by 2 GB RAM . The device runs on Android OS, v4.2 (Jelly Bean) platform which is upgradable to v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It houses 8 MP primary camera that offers 3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus and LED flash 1EA and 1.3 MP HD front facing camera for video call. The smartphone is supportive of GSM/EDGE/GPRS (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), 3G (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz), HSPA+ 42.

The LG Google Nexus 4 is powered by 2,100mAh Battery that is claimed to give a 11.9 hours talktime and 564.5 hours of standby time. Data Connectivity includes Bluetooth, USB, WiFI. The device holds and storage capacity of 8 GB and 16 GB and lacks microSD card slot. Other features include Wireless Charging and Wireless Display.

Although, the launch of the LG Google Nexus 4 has been official today with the announcement of price and availability, there's still no mentions on pricing of the 8GB model in India. With it's advent in the Indian market which is blazing with the rivalry between devices with similar pricing and specifications Google Nexus, may have to face a challenging rivalry with similar devices such as, Sony Xperia Z, Apple iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy S4, LG Optimus G.

Sony Xperia Z

Both Xperia Z and Xperia ZL comes with a 5 inch full HD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and with Mobile Bravia Engine 2, quad core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 13MP rear camera, 2.2MP front camera for video calling, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 4G LTE.

On the pricing front, Xperia Z is available at Rs 37,990. Detailing on Xperia Z, the waterproof handset comes with IP55/57 certifications making it water proof and can be submerged into 1 meter water and also resistant.

Comparing the specs with its competitors, it has the best configuration and average pricing. It has got better specifications than Apple iPhone 5 and the best camera among the five others.

Apple iPhone 5

iPhone 5 sports a 4 inch display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, a new Apple A6 chipset, 1GB RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB internal memory, 8MP rear camera with iSight technology, 1.2MP front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, 3G, micro USB 2.0 and a battery with 8 hours talk time and 225 hours standby.

Apple has priced iPhone 5 at Rs 40,990, Rs 52,500 and Rs 59,500 for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants respectively. Though iPhone 5 did not have Retina display, it has a 4 inch display with 1136 x 640 pixel resolution and 326 ppi pixel density.

However, Xperia Z and Xperia ZL have a 440 ppi display could easily knockout the Apple offering. However, Sony Xperia Z and ZL come at a lesser price, which will be an added advantage. It also has the least RAM of 1GB compared to others which have 2GB.

LG Optimus G

Optimus G boasts a 4.7 inch True HD IPS+ capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 X 768 pixels, 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 1,3MP front camera for video calling, 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and 2,100mAh battery.

The handset has been officially released in India at Rs 34,500 and is also available online at Rs 30,990. Though Xperia Z is priced expensive than Optimus G, it comes with a better display, improved battery and water/dust resistant feature. It also has the second best camera feature compared to others.

Samsung Galaxy S3

The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with display of 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED (1280x720) display, The device was launched with Android 4.0.4 "Ice Cream Sandwich", and can be updated to Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean".

The S3 comes in two distinct variations that differ primarily in the internal hardware. The international S3 version has Samsung's Exynos 4 Quad system on a chip (SoC) containing a 1.4 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 central processing unit (CPU) and an ARM Mali-400 MP graphics processing unit (GPU) and is backed up by 1 GB RAM.

The device is available at Rs. 26500. The Galaxy S3 has the storage capacity of 16 GB which differs with the price respectively. It houses an 8 Mp rear camera and a 1.9MP front facing camera and is powered by 2100 mAh battery.

This could be the cheapest smartphone among the others and has lesser specifications if compared to others. This would probably be the least chosen device among the rest five.

Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy S4 is the successor of the Samsung Galaxy S3. It is powered by Samsung's latest Exynos 5 Octa 5410 Octa core processor dialed to 1.6 GHz and is backed up by 2GB RAM. It comes with 5 inch 1080p display, 13MP primary camera and 2 MP front facing camera. The high end Galaxy S4 is priced at Rs. 39,399. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Platform and is powered my 2600 mAh battery. The internal storage capacity varies from 16, 32 to 64 GB according to the price.

This phone may have the upper hand among its other fellow rivals. It has the best camera features and the 5 inch easy display. Although the price of the device is more than the rest, this device may serve its worth as it hold the best specs and features.
