LG's high-end smartphone Optimus G Pro which was unveiled in the MWC 2013, that happened in February, was launched in South Korea on the same month. March 2013, the company announced that it would launching a Value Pack upgrade for the device in South Korea.
As promised, LG has started rolling out the update in the country. What are features introduced with the pack? Let's have a look
Smart Video: The feature uses eye recognition technology which can track user's eyes and play or pause a video based on his/her's line of vision. Meaning, If the viewer's eyes deviates away from the device, the front camera pauses the video automatically. Once the user looks back at the device, the video resumes playback from the last point. Needless to say, the user is not required to operate any playback controls, manually.
Dual Camera function: The Optimus G Pro will allow customers to capture pictures using both the front and back cameras for a picture-in-picture composition.
Magic Remote Pad and Text Keypad options for QRemote which works as a remote control for LG's Smart TVs.
Smart LED Lighting upgrade which enables users to customize the colors to their chosen contacts and identify the source of their notifications.
Color Emoticons which brings life and animation to text messages.
Pause & Resume Recording: Users will be able to pause and start in record mode for one continuous video file.
Well, all that can be said is that the new update sports features similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4 software features. Meanwhile, Optimus G Pro which was expected to be made available in South Korea, is now released in Japan. There is also a rumor that the samrtphone will be released in US in May 10 on AT&T.
The LG Optimus G Pro which runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p HD display, Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 processor, Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (expandable via micro SD card), 13MP rear camera, 2.4MP front camera , connectivity features including LTE, microUSB, Bluetooth NFC and 3140 mAh battery. The smartphone is priced approximately at Rs 38500. There is no news on whether the device will be available in India, as of now.
