Optimus G2 Video Hints CES 2013 Launch: Can LG Beat Samsung Galaxy S4 in 1080p Smartphone Race?
With only a four days left for CES 2013 to begin, all the top notch tech manufacturers across the globe have started coming up with teasers of their launches lined up to showcase at the event to enthrall the excitement among the tech enthusiasts.
With numerous leaks and rumors surrounding Samsung devices expected to launch at CES 2013 in Las Vegas, how can its South Korean kin LG rest behind.
Optimus G2, the successor of Optimus G will be flagship smartphone of the South Korean tech giant in 2013 and is tipped to be launched at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2013.
Hence, the popular Optimus series creator has leaked a YouTube video hinting at their highly predictable announcement at the event. Well, reportedly what has been figured out from the video is that LG plans to showcase their new flagship smartphone Optimus G2 equipped with 5.5-inch screen and Qualcomm quad-core S4 Prime MSM8974 during CES 2013, apart from several other launched including appliances, TVs etc.
As seen below, the video features an extremely quick glimpse of the new smartphone with sleek edge of the device with slim bezel around the screen. The product shown in the video is being dubbed of the LG Optimus G2, the rumoured successor to the LG Optimus G.
Going by the earlier reports and rumors, Optimus G2 is speculated to have a 5.5 inch 1080p display with 440 ppi pixel density, 2GHz quad core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 13MP rear camera, 3GB RAM and more.
LG Optimus G2 - 5.5 inch 1080p Rival to Galaxy S4
Following the successful launch of Google branded LG Nexus 4, which borrows some features from Optimus G, the South Korean smartphone vendor has definitely regained its lost foothold in the smartphone arena and has come out as a competitor to all the biggies in the market including Samsung.
As far as Optimus G2 is concerned, there is only little information about the smartphone is known so far including its display, operating system and processor. However, these are only rumors and they are not confirmed by LG.
If these rumored specs turn out to be true, Optimus G2 could become a potential rival to Samsung Galaxy S4, which is rumored to come with similar specs during Q2 2013.
Detailing on Samsung Galaxy S4, the handset boasts a 5 inch AMOLED HD display along with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 441 ppi pixel density, 2GHz quad core Cortex A15 processor, 13MP rear camera, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and 16GB/32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage options.
Hence, if LG launches Optimus G2 with such advanced features as in Galaxy S4, the handset could definitely set aside the Samsung offering in 2013.
