LG Optimus L3, L5, L7: Next Gen Handsets Slip In Just Ahead of MWC 2013
After posting a marginal profit from its mobile phone division last quarter, the Korean giant is now prepared to look forward to new devices. LG enjoyed quite a time selling Google-branded Nexus 4, which was launched in 2012.
Reportedly, the company has sold as many as 1 million Nexus 4 smartphone till date. As the world is eagerly waiting for Mobile World Congress (MWC) to start later this month, LG is said to update its best -selling L- series.
LG L- Series largely consist of low-to-mid-range smartphones running on Google's Android OS. The devices are as follows: LG Optimus 3, LG Optimus 5, LG Optimus 7 and LG Optimus L9. The LG Optimus 3, is the lowest priced offering by the company, followed by LG Optimus 5 - a low medium ranged device and finally LG Optimus L7 - a medium ranged device carrying large 4.3-inch display.

As per Naver - a Korean blog site, LG will update its current L-series by pumping with processor upgrade, more camera pixels and, better display.
The next -gen LG Optimus L3, will have a 3.2-inch IPS LCD display, a 5-mega pixel rear camera, powerful 1 GHz processor, 384 MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Dual SIM, A-GPS ,1540mAh battery, expandable memory expansion (up to 32GB ),and a weight of 110 grams. The device will be powered by Android v2.3.
Next comes, the next generation LG Optimus L5, which will be powered by Android Jelly Bean instead of Android 4.0 ICS. It has the same display screen size of 4.0-inches, but this time with WVGA. The processor will be 1GHz Cortex-A9, 5-mega pixels rear camera, up to 2GB internal memory, 512 MB of RAM, Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, 1540mAh battery, and a weight of 125grams.
Lastly, the most advanced handset under the L-series will be the next-gen LG Optimus L7. The device will have a 4.3-inch WVGA display, 768MB of RAM, 8-mega pixel of rear camera, large 2,460mAh battery, Dual SIM, W-Fi, 3G and A-GPS. The LG Optimus L7 II will be powered by Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
The above mentioned next-generation LG Optimus L-series is due out at MWC 2013. There might be a change in the due specifications of the next -generation LG Optimus L3, L5 and L7. The company could announce the next -iteration to LG Optimus L9. No word on that, as of now.
Meanwhile, the Korean company has finally announced that LG Optimus 4X HD, LG Optimus L7 and LG Optimus L9, are entitled to get Android Jelly Bean update. The information has been communicated on LG Hongkong Facebook page. It is said that the update will rolled out in the first half of 2013.
