LG Optimus L9: HTC Desire SV Competitor Unleashed With 4.7 inch qHD IPS Display and 2,150 mAh Li-ion Battery at Rs 22,000
Back in October, Gizbot carried an exclusive report based on the details provided by an inside source from LG, stating that the company is planning to launch a new smartphone in India by the end of November. As reported, the South Korean tech smartphone vendor has today launched Optimus L9 quietly into the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 22,000.
Earlier this year, LG launched several L series handsets – Optimus L3, Optimus L5 and Optimus L7 successfully in the global market. Following this success line, the company has come up with the Optimus L9 with a thin body and modern square styled design to offer a comfortable grip to the users. Let's have a quick look at the other specifications of the Android ICS mid range smarphone.
Key Specs
Dimensions & Weight: Optimus L9 carries a dimension of 1131.9 x 68.2 x 9.1 mm and weighs in at 125 grams.
Display: Optimus L9 houses a 4.7 inch qHD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
Processor: In this segment, the handset is powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor.
Operating System: Optimus L9 is flavored with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system topped with Optimus 3.0 UI.

Additional Features
Optimus L9 comes with QTranslator, a feature that translates entire sentences and phrases supporting over 64 languages, MyStyle Keypad that lets users type conveniently, QMemo function, Cheese Shutter function that lets users capture amazing blur-free and shake-free self portraits.
Price & Availability
LG Optimus L9 is priced at Rs 22,000 and it can be purchased from several online retailer sites in the country.
Competition with HTC Desire SV
Analyzing the price and specifications, Optimus L9 seems to be a competitor of HTC Desire SV, which was outed into the market early this month at a price of Rs 22,590.
Taking about specs, Desire SV houses a 4.3 inch Super LCD 2 touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 1GHz dual core processor, 768MB RAM, 4GB on-board storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, 25GB free Dropbox storage for two years, 8MP rear camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 1,620 mAh Li-ion battery.
Further, Desire SV comes with Beats Audio integration for outstanding audio experience with powerful bass, more dynamics and improved clarity and is preloaded with productivity tools including Office Suite and Microsoft Exchange.
At the same time, HTC Desire SV comes with free Dropbox cloud storage and better camera making the battlefield interesting. Hence, when it comes to competition, the LG handset with a larger display and better battery backup can be a stiff rival to the HTC offering.
