Back in October Nokia announced a collection of new devices in a Abu Dhabi event. However, the 'Nokia World' event just revealed the handsets then but now one smartphone from that particular group called the

Nokia Lumia 1520, the Finnish manufacturer's highly awaited Windows Phone 8 powered high end phablet which was launched in Nokia World Congress at Abu Dhabi in October 2013 has finally hit the Indian boundaries. Priced at Rs. 46,999, the Lumia 1520 will be available in Indian stores from today in yellow, black, red, and white variant.

Lets take a look at the detailed specs of the handset.

Display

The Lumia 1520 comes with a massive 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display with full HD resolution (1080x1920 pixel) and a pixel density of 267ppi. It also uses a polarised filter called ClearBlack Display which works like an anti reflection ornament to the phone.

Processor, RAM and OS

The smartphone uses Qualcomm's best and popular Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. While 2GB of RAM comes backing up the CPU. There is no word on the GPU featured in the device. Obviously it runs on Windows Phone 8 platform.

Camera

There is a 20 megapixel PureView rear camera incorporated at in the handset. While at the front face of the ahndset, there lies a 1.2 MP wide angle lens for taking selfies and making video calls.

Storage

It comes with 32GB onboard memory but it can be expanded up to 64GB by using a microSD card. Additionally, the company is also offering a 7 GB of cloud storage as well.

Connectivity

Starting from the basic, it is a Nano SIM slot featuring handset. An array of ports and other connectivity options also comes handy with the handset. It includes USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi (WLAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/a), NFC, DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot support and 3G. Apart from these, Nokia Beamer which lets users share the screen to others by sending a link over SMS, or email can also be found.

Battery

The monster handset draws its energy from a 3400 mAh battery which the company claims t offer a maximum standby time of 32 days. The Finnish manufacturer also assures 27.4 hours of maximum talktime on 2G network and 25.1 hours in 3G. While it would hold on to 124 hours of music playback and 10.8 hours of video playback.

Nokia and Microsoft have worked quite hard to offer the Window Phone 8 Amber OS to the handset. Also considering the large screen, the OS is conditioned to suit the quality of the display. Nokia's signature candy color still comes into play as the smartphone comes with the same glossy red, matte black, matte white and yellow color variants.

Nokia has packed in a premium camera with the Lumia 1520. It is a PureView 20-megapixel Auto Focus ZEISS optics with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), 2x lossless zoom, oversampling technology, dual LED flash, 1080p @ 30 fps full HD video with optical image stabilization. Also packed in is a BSI sensor, a 2.4mm aperture, 16:9 aspect ratio and 26mm focal length.

Nokia has also released the flipcover called with the model name CP623. The accessory is priced at Rs 2,999.

The latest handset from Nokia, Lumia 1520 is no doubt, one of the best Windows Phone device so far. However, maker is bound to face the market pressure since there are already devices of similar sizes and specs. Moreover, if one looks at the current trend, bigger phones are quite popular in India.
