Nokia Lumia 920 was facing a serious series of complains from the users regarding the accumulation of dust under its front facing camera and more importantly the proximity sensor. With dust bothering the Nokia Lumia 920's proximity sensor, the phone was unable to detect the user's cheek which is more often close to the display, causing issues while on calls. Thus the issue was reported causing problems such as, dropped calls and inability to access phone menus.
Reportedly, back in March there were gossips regarding the solution to the accumulating dust in the Nokia Lumia 920. Now it seems that Nokia has eventually come up with the sheath that would probably cure this issue. Reportedly, a reliable source from Nokia Care stated about the sheath being now available.
Those Nokia Lumia 920 owners with a dust accumulation problem can now take their phone to a Nokia Care point center or a W-Support center to have the sheath put on. Reportedly it was told that the future Lumia 920 units would have a sheath protection around the front facing camera and proximity sensor to protect them from dust. While existing Nokia Lumia 920 users may take their devices to a Nokia Repair Centre.
Reportedly it was also said that, the whole problem was a design flaw that left a gap above the camera allowing the dust inside the device.
