Maxx Mobile Will Launch 9 New Smartphones, 17 In Total
Domestic handset makers are going the distance in the Indian market with more and more new smartphones almost each day. We already have names such as Micromax and Karbonn. Now it seems local maker Maxx is also getting into the act.
Handset maker Maxx Mobile is planning to launch as many as 9 smartphones and 8 feature phones over the next few weeks. Apparently, as reports have suggested, the smartphones will be priced between Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 6,000.

Accroding to the company, the devices are meant for budget-oriented smartphone users who are looking to upgrade to a better handset at the most affordable prices possible.
Maxx Mobile Chairman and Managing Director Ajjay Agarwal stated, "We will launch nine new smartphones models and 8 new feature phone models this month. Going forward, our focus will be on budget smartphones."

He also added that the newly launched smartphones include a low cost Android-based smartphone priced at only Rs 2,000. And if that is so, then it could easily be tagged as one of the most affordable Android smartphone in India.
"These handsets will target two segments - first-time smartphone users that is people upgrading from feature phones with devices priced between Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 3,500," he further said.

Apart from that, he added that the select models will be launched exclusively via e-retailing sites. The feature phones, however, will be sold via the trade channel.
Reportedly, Maxx Mobile's revenues in the 2013-14 fiscal was at Rs. 600 crore. The company now aims to gain Rs 3,600 crore in revenue with the launch of the new devices.
