Meizu recently announced the M2 Note, expanding its Note lineup, the company wants to give a tough competition in the market. The M2 Note comes with few upgraded specifications over its predecessor. The Meizu M2 Note offers more decent set of specs than the M1 Note.

Meanwhile, early this year, Xiaomi has released its phablet dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. Here is a comparison of both smartphones: Meizu M2 Note and the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro.

Design

Meizu has come up with mixed textures for its M2 Note. The smartphone comes with a matte finish around the frames while the back panel retains a glossy polycarbonate finish as its predecessor. Even with bigger screen size, the smartphone is comfortable to hold. M2 Note measures 150.9mm x 75.2mm x 8.7mm and weights 149grams. The phone is available in gray, white, blue and pink color options.

The Mi Note Pro is all together a different kind of product. The Chinese company has used a curved glass front and back, making the design really top-notch in nature. It measures 155.1 x 77.6 x 6.95 mm and weighs in at 160grams.

Display

The Meizu M2 Note comes with a bit small display than the Mi Note. M2 Note sports a 5.5 inch full HD display covering up to 72.8 percent of front panel, with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution at 403 ppi density. The display features a sharp IGZO technology along with multitouch and TBC protection.

While the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display it's a huge jump in size and resolution. In comparison to the M2 Note, the Mi Note comes with an IPS LCD display at 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Processor, RAM And Storage

When it comes to the performance of the smartphone, processor is one of the important aspects to be considered. Meizu M2 Note is powered by a 1.3 GHz Octa Core Cortex-A53 processor with Mediatek MT6753 SoC along with Mail-T720MP3. The m2 note is paired with 2GB of RAM.

While the Mi Note Pro is the company's first device to have a Snapdragon 810 processor. It has a healthy 4GB of RAM. The device comes with a Qualcom MSM8994 Snapdragon SoC at quad-core 1.5GHz clock speed and a Adreno 430 GPU.

The M2 Note comes equipped with 16GB /32GB of internal memory, with an expansion of up to 128GB via microSD card slot. But, the Mi Note Pro will be made available in just 64GB model and doesn't come with card slot to expand the memory.

Operating System

Both smartphones run on Android platform. The Meizu M2 Note is shipped with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Flyme 4.5 user interface on top. The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS along with MIUI 6 interface. The UI offers a number of enhancements in the form of themes, animations and ringtones.

Camera

The Meizu M2 Note houses a 13 megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus feature. The smartphone captures images at 4208 x 3120 pixels resolution and records HD 1080p videos. The M2 Note also comes with 5 megapixel front-facing camera. The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro also has a 13 megapixel rear facing camera, and a 4 megapixel front camera.

Both smartphone have similar specs and comes with better performance and have their own strengths to win the heart of smartphone lovers. For Meizu the design, screen and the storage space of the smartphone makes a better option. While, the Mi Note Pro is also a powerful smartphone which comes with a decent specs and solid performance. To be precise, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is going to be a huge hit and has got the right design and the right price.
