MicroMax’s Android Phones-A Comparison of A60 and A70
Buoyed by the immense success of the Micrp Max A60 the company has launched yet another cheap Android based phone that was mainly intended to sort out some issues that were bothering the A60. The phone was christened the MicroMax A70. The phone was in many ways a preferable upgrade to the A60. Now let us take a closer look at both A60 and A70.
The A70 boasts of a larger 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen whereas the A60 had a 2.8 resistive touch screen. A larger screen means better video and visual experience. Also the screen of the Micro Max A70 is brighter as compared to the A60.
A major improvement is in the camera department. The A70 offers a 5.0 Mega Pixel camera as compared to the 3.2 Mega Pixel Camera offered by the A60. Autofocus function is available for both. But the key difference is the presence of a front VGA camera in the A70 which can facilitate video calling on 3G networks. This was missing in the A60.
Both A60 and A70 have support for audio and video playback in various formats but the A70 fares better because it offers support for high definition h264 Video playback. On the connectivity front, both these Micro Max android phones offer technologies such as Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi, but the A70 comes with a micro USB port compared to the Mini USB port of the A60.
A60 and A70 are 3G enabled, so high speed internet surfing and downloading is easy. Besides both of them have all 2G internet technologies like GPRS and EDGE. However only the A70 facilitates video calling because of the front camera mentioned earlier.
Micro Max android phones, but the A70 is based on the version 2.2 Froyo compared to the older version of 2.1
