Micromax Boasts A116 Canvas HD 9000 Units Sold in 24 Hours

Micromax, India's leading handset manufacture recently announced the beginning of online sales for their first quad core processor phone -A116 Canvas HD holding a price tag of Rs 13,990. in a latest development, the Gurgaon based tech firm has confirmed a sales of over 9000 of the Canvas HD units online in less than 24 hours of announcing the online sales of the device at their online store.

The Canvas HD has been one of the most awaited products since the announcement of its launch earlier this year. The data has been received from their online partner, Snapdeal.com, which shows that the first lot of the Canvas HD was sold out within 15 minutes of announcing the sale at midnight of 14 February 2013.

While, the second lot of 300 units of the phone was again sold out within 15 minutes of the sale at 09:00 am and the third lot of 1200 phones was sold in 45 minutes with the beginning of the sale at noon on the first day itself. Currently, Micromax has over 9000 units booked in less than 24 hours and counting.

Commenting on the sales, Mr. Shubhodip Pal, CMO Micromax, said, "The response from our consumers has been phenomenal and the demand has been increasing every passing minute. After the unprecedented success of the Canvas 2, we are overwhelmed with the customer response for Canvas HD. This is the first time our online sales partners have ever witnessed a digital queue in cyberspace to such an extent for any product, to the traditional cue one normally sees. The data also shows that 60% of the orders received online have come from the metros."

He further added, "It was great to witness consumers wait until 12:00am for their chance to book the Canvas HD on Valentine's Day. We expect the sales of this device to touch a new high in the coming weeks which will soon be available for sale at all leading retail stores in the country. We hope to further strengthen our leadership in the new phablet category in India."

Currently the phone is being booked at a pace of 25 units per minute. Just to remind you, the Canvas HD is powered by MediaTek's MT6589 1.2 GHz quad core processor and run on Android Jelly Bean. With an HD IPS screen with a HD resolution of 1280x720 and a color depth of 16.7 million, the phone comes with superb graphics and HD viewing experience. Supported by a 2000mAh battery, promises superior quality graphics, multi-tasking and improved application performance. The phone sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and multiple camera settings such as night mode, 4X zoom - to further enhance the superiority of the memorable moments.

3G enabled A116 will help users in faster browsing, downloading attachments and watching streaming videos with excellent quality. The users can download HD quality videos and watch them on their phone without compromising with the quality. Users now can get to keep all their downloaded music by storing them in the phone's external memory which is expandable up to 32GB.
