Micromax A120 Canvas Pro HD Rumors Begin in India Amid Canvas HD Shipping Controversy
After the great success of A116 Canvas HD, which is evident from its massive sales, speculations of the next Canvas handset has started surfacing online. Alleged to be named A120 Canvas Pro HD or Canvas 3, the handset appears to be the successor of A116 Canvas HD.
Recent media reports state that Micromax is prepping a handset in the Canvas lineup to compete with the high-end offerings including HTC Butterfly, Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S4. Hence, it is speculated that the forthcoming Micromax handset will come with the likes of its competitors.
As per a Tech2 report citing an inside source, the A120 Canvas Pro HD is speculated to come with a 1080p full HD display with 3D support and a 13MP camera with better sensor and 3D compatibility. Apart from these fantasy features, the Micromax phablet will also come with a 2GHz quad core Cortex A7 processor with MediaTek MT6589 chip and PowerVR Series 5XT GPU with hyper threating technology and a 2GB RAM.
Furthermore, the report also claims that the Canvas 3 will have a 5.5 inch display with the Full HD resolution as suggested above and Corning Gorilla Glass proctection, 3.2MP front camera, dual LED flash support for the primary shooter, dual SIM support, 8GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB, Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a powerful 3,000 mAh battery.
Interestingly, according to the report, being a Micromax phablet, Canvas Pro HD is speculated to be priced between Rs 18,000 to Rs 20,000, which could be an exciting package for the price conscious consumers.
When it comes to Canvas HD, a NDTV report states that Snapdeal, the online retailer has received fresh stocks of the handset and has dispatched over 95% of the pre-booked Canvas HD units. It also claims that the remaining backlog will be cleared by today, March 26.
Moreover, as reported by Gizbot earlier, the retail availability of Canvas HD is all set to debut soon as the month of March is coming to an end and the pre-order backlog is getting cleared.
Talking of specifications, Canvas HD packs a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.
Initially, launched at Rs 13,990, the price of Canvas HD has been increased to Rs 14,499 following the increase in mobile phone price at Union Budget.
