As the Indian smartphone market is witnessing a plethora of low cost dual SIM Android smartphones to cater to the requirements of the budget conscious consumers, the local vendors including Micromax and Intex have recently added the new smarphones including Superfone A87 Ninja 4 and Aqua 4.0 to their respective product portfolios.

Priced at Rs 5,999 and Rs 5,490 respectively, the Ninja 4 and Aqua 4.0 smartphones are budget friendly dual SIM handsets that have already penetrated deep into the price conscious Indian smartphone market.

Before going for a purchase of one these two smartphones, do have a look a this brief spec comparison between Ninja 4 and Aqua 4.0.

Form Factor: While the weight of Ninja 4 is not disclosed by the manufacturer, the handset carries a dimension of 124.8 x 64 x 11.7 mm and Aqua 4.0 boasts a dimension of 115.3 x 61.4 x 11.9 mm and weighs in at 113.2 grams.

Display: In this segment, the A87 Ninja 4 houses a larger 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels while Aqua 4.0 packs a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 320 pixel resolution.

Processor: A87 Ninja 4 scores more on the processor front as it is equipped with a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, while the Aqua 4.0 is equipped with a slower 800 MHz processor.

Operating System: Being budget smartphones, both run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, an older version of the Google OS.

Camera:On the camera optics front, the Aqua 4.0 fares well as it sports a 3MP rear camera and 0.3MP VGA front camera.

On the other hand, A87 Ninja 4 has a 2MP rear camera and lacks a front facing camera for video calling.

Storage: While Aqua 4.0 has 131MB internal storage capacity, A87 Ninja 4 does not have a internal memory capacity. However, both the handsets have a micro SD card slot, which supports 32GB expandable memory.

Battery: Both the smartphones are powered a 1,400 mAh Li-ion battery, which delivers 5 hours talk time and 175 hours standby for Ninja 4 smartphone and 3 hours talk time and 140 hours standby for Aqua 4.0.

Price: While speaking about the price, A87 Ninja 4 is available for Rs 5,999 and Aqua 4.0 is priced at Rs 5,490.

Verdict

Both the Ninja 4 and Aqua 4.0 are low cost Android smartphone with pretty impressive specifications and budget software features.

The Intex offering is pre-installed with features including FM radio, music player, sound recorder and more. However, Intex Aqua 4.0 has more pre-loaded social networking and IM applications. Also, the handset supports English and Hindi interface.

At the same time, the Micromax offering has the Aisha voice assistant application, an Apple Siri like feature in a low cost smartphone.

On the pricing front, being wallet-friendly handsets, both are priced in the sub Rs 6,000 range, which will not hurt the consumers budget.

If you are not too concerned about the processor and screen size, but require a smartphone with front camera, Hindi support and internal memory storage, the Intex Aqua 4.0 could be a right one for you.

However, if you like to have a larger screen, voice assistant application and more battery backup, the Micromax A87 Superfone should be the right choice.
