Micromax A91 Ninja Available at Rs 8499: Can Dual SIM Android ICS Newbie Outwit Galaxy S Duos?

After the launch of Canvas HD, the India based renowned handset vendor Micromax got so busy in meeting the demand and supply of the budget quad core handset that the manufacturer did not came out with any new product launch for quite a while.

However, this week as Canvas HD shipment has started smoothly, Micromax is in news again for its next new handset launched recently. Yes! The sizzling native tech firm, which is giving a touch competition to global majors like Samsung, Nokia has now come up with Micromax A91 Ninja, an Android ICS smartphone with dual SIM support.

Recently the budget handset has been spotted on Saholic at a price of Rs 8,499, from where, if purchased, the handset will be shipped in three business days. However, Micromax is yet to announce the availability of the handset officially.

According to the listing on the online retailer's site, A91 Nnja comes with a 4.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, 1GHz dual core MediaTek MT6577 processor, 5MP auto focus rear camera, 0.3MP front-facing camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB with microSD card slot and a 1,800 mAh battery.

Competition with Galaxy S Duos

As Micromax is striving hard to compete with Samsung, it is clear that the company has manufactured A91 Ninja with similar specs as Galaxy S Duos. Hence, homegrown manufacturer will enter a direct rivalry with Samsung, who has already established its foothold in that particular market segment with Galaxy S Duos.

Specwise, Galaxy S Duos smartphone houses a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, dual core 1GHz processor, Android 4.0 ICS, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 4GB internal memory, 768MB RAM, a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB and 1,500 mAh Li-ion battery. Further, Galaxy S Duos is priced at Rs 13,100 in India making it a reasonable offering.

Analyzing the specs, it is clear that A91 Ninja comes with a larger display, slightly faster processor and a better battery. Furthermore, the Micromax offering is available at a lesser price than the Galaxy S Duos, making it suitable for the price conscious consumers.
