Only last week, India-based leading smartphone vendor Micromax had listed its latest device called the Canvas Blaze HD EG116 on its official website. Now the device is up for sale from the company's official store at the price of Rs. 16,000.
Micromax has been releasing a number of devices off late and all these devices fall in the lower-mid range price. Even this one falls in the same category. In terms of specs, the Canvas Blaze HD EG116 is a 5-inch smartphone which comes with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and touch screen IPS display.
The 5-incher device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon MSM8625Q processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It runs on a bit older version of Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS.
There is an 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash seated at the back of the device while at the front you will also get to see a 2MP front-facing snapper for video calling and taking selfies.
In case if you are worried about connectivity features, it has regular options which include 3G (EVDO Rev.A /HSDPA), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and obviously you'll also be get a Dual SIM (CDMA + GSM) support on the phone.
Internal storage capacity is 4GB but it can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
The device comes powered by a 2000 mAh battery, which according to the company will offer a stand-by time of 150 hours and a 5 hours of talk-time.
Since there are number of domestic manufacturers who have been rolling out their products at the same price range, the latest Micromax smartphone is likely to compete with them. However, among all of these, products from Karbonn, Intex are Xolo are probably going to stand on its way. Also Chinese smartphone vendors like Gionee, Huawei and Lenovo will be competing with Micromax in relation with the company's latest device.
