There are a host of smartphones that are arriving these days under the budget segment in the market. And rightfully so with most of the surge happening in that section of the market with more and more new makers now entering the race.

While we have big name smartphones in the market as that of the Samsung and Sony, the advent of the India-based makers aren't to be taken lightly as well. One such maker is Micromax with its brand new Micromax Canvas Fire A093 offering.

The Canvas Fire A093 is yet another budget-friendly smartphone, which will rival against several KitKat flavored handsets like the Xolo Q600s, Moto E, Lava Iris X1, Swipe Konnect 5.0 and it's very own Canvas Unite 2, Canvas Engage and others.

Going through the specs of the device once more, the Canvas Fire handset features a 4-inch WVGA display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with a very less RAM of 512MB.

It uses a 4GB of internal memory complemented with a microSD card slot for further memory expansion up to 32GB. Micromax Canvas Fire also comes with 5MP rear camera with LED flash, a VGA front camera, HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, dual-SIM support and 1750 mAh battery.

But while all the numbers seem good, Micromax knows that the device will face a lot of competition both from inside and outside the company.

The Moto E comes with a 4.3-inch display offering a resolution of 960x540 pixels resolution. The Moto E is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor along with Adreno 302 GPU alongside 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

Apart from offering Android KitKat, it also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera on the back side, but does not feature a LED flash and front facing shooter. The makers have added a 1,989mAh battery to power the handset. Motorola has used a nano-coating on the handset that will make the smartphone resistant to water.

The Micromax unite 2 comes with a 4.7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display. Further, Micromax Unite 2 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and it runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), which can also be upgraded to later versions of the OS.

Imaging aspect of the device is handled by a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and 2MP front-facing shooter. Which is pretty decent in this price range. The latest Unite 2 also houses 4GB internal memory which can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. Additionally, it is a Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) handset with dual standby mode. It is powered by a 2000 mAh battery.

The Intex Aqua N15 runs the Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support while featuring a 4-inch IPS display with an FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution.

A quad-core processor powers the smartphone, clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Aqua N15 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera also on-board.

The phone comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE and 3G connectivity options.

The Karbonn Titanium S99 sports a 4-inch IPS display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage, which can be later expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

On the imaging front, the handset features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED Flash, and a VGA quality front-facing camera.

The device runs on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out-of-the-box. The connectivity options on the Titanium S99 included are 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and offers dual-sim support.

 

The dual SIM Celkon A35K Campus has a manageable 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It is powered by a 1GHz processor coupled with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of internal memory, which can be later expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

On the imaging front, it comes with a mere 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a VGA quality front-facing shooter. The makers have added a 1,400mAh battery fitted inside. The handset measures 10.7mm in terms of thickness and weighs in at 102 grams. The phone runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat out-of-the-box.

Connectivity options in the phone include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Dual- SIM, Micro-USB, FM Radio, GPS, among others.
