Ever since its launch, Canvas HD has stirred waves of excitement among the consumers and tech experts with its highly advanced specifications under a budget price tag. While, Micromax pre booked a record of 9000 units of the smartphone in the first batch, although, the company missed the delivery date claim and till now is struggling to meet the consumer delivery deadlines.
In mid-March, Gizbot came up with a report stating that Micromax will kick off the retail availability of Canvas HD by the end of this month. Well, now it seems that the report has turned out to be true, as the Jelly Bean phablet has been listed by several online retailers for sale. One of Croma, the electronics retail arm of Tata Enterprises as listed the Canvas HD for Rs 14,999, which is slightly higher than the original price of Rs 14,499.
In another Gizbot report early this week, an inside source of Micromax confirmed that the Canvas HD retail availability has debuted in the country and that the major retail stores including Croma and The Mobile Store will start selling the phablet.
Well, as mentioned in the report, the Croma online store has the phablet listed in stock, whereas, TheMobileStore's listing shows that the Canvas HD is priced at Rs 15,999 and is out of stock.
As far as specs are concerned, A116 Canvas HD comes with a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 2,100 mAh battery.
