Micromax Canvas MAd A94: Budget Android Smartphone Launched At Rs 8,490

You may have seen huge numbers of budget Android phones, but what about a unique app that let you earn points for every ad viewed. It seems impossible at first glance, but in reality Indian domestic vendor Micromax managed to come up with Micromax Advertising Application (Mad).

Furthermore, the company also unveiled the coming of first Android handset to promote MAd app. Micromax Canvas Mad A94 , the first such phone to come pre-loaded with MAd app , will be made available starting today for Rs. 8,490.

Basically, Micromax will pay you to watch an advertisement. Users can watch advertisements via MAd app, and earn points for ad viewed. Later each earned points will be converted into real cash and credited to your postpaid/prepaid balance. Micromax says the service will work for all opted-in subscribers across all telecom operators.

Micromax Canvas MAd A94 Launched At Rs 8,490

However, on the negative side, consumers have to purchase the Micromax Canvas MAd A94 handset to use the service. As per the official press release, the company hasn't stated that whether this unique app will be offered for other Micromax branded handsets. We don't know how valuable the service would prove to be for mass consumers.

For a time being, the MAd app appears to be more logical for advertisers and network providers. The success of such unique service is entirely dependent on consumer reaction. One big hurdle that could spoil the engagement between the brands and users will be non-availability of MAd app for other Canvas series / feature phones.
