Micromax Canvas Play: Budget Android Lollipop Smartphone Now Available Online in India at Rs 7,490

Following the launch of its budget Canvas Spark, the company is back with yet another entry-level handset. Apparently, the new Canvas Play can be purchased via a third-party retailer at a price of Rs. 7,490.

For starters the Canvas Play will come with a 5.5-inch (480x854 pixels) FWVGA display, which already gives it a better display than the Canvas Spark (4.7-inch, FWVGA).

It is a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core chipset and will be accompanied by 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, and a 5MP rear-facing camera with a 0.3MP front camera in the front.

The large screen sized handset also packs in a healthy 2820mAh battery, which according to the company is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time and up to 273 hours of standby time.

On the connectivity front, the Canvas Play offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, micro-SD support,Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options.

The Canvas Play also comes pre-loaded with a plethora of apps including Askme, Chaatz, Clean Master, Hotstar, M! Games, M! live, News Hunt, PayTM, Quikr, Snapdeal, among others.

Unfortunately for now it looks like the handset will only be available via eBay India, but we reckon that there will probably be more third-party retailers to stock the device shortly.
