Indian smartphone vendor Micromax has been playing a hard game when it comes to catering the best of the devices in as much as affordable prices in the market. However, the game is not just about the hardware these days.
Realizing the same, the maker of the Canvas Turbo smartphone has recently been said to release the latest Android version update to its multiple devices. The news comes from MMXNewscaster, a Twitter user, who posted the model numbers of the smartphones that would supposedly receive the updates.<blockquote class="twitter-tweet blockquote" lang="en"><p>New Year KitKat Surprise! ETA unspecified. <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23SurpriseCANGiftHappiness&src=hash">#SurpriseCANGiftHappiness</a> <a href="http://t.co/w5IcQLpe4v">pic.twitter.com/w5IcQLpe4v</a></p>— @MMXNewscaster (@MMXNewscaster) <a href="https://twitter.com/MMXNewscaster/statuses/417195888402898945">December 29, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
However, couple of months back, the domestic company had made some plans to release Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to its selected high end smartphones, but it didn't take place so far. But now it seems all these devices will also get the major OTA updates.
It should be noted that all the devices that are listed on the leaked document will not get Android 4.4 update. Out of 15 smartphone models listed, only 11 will be getting it. While the remaining will be getting 4.1 Jelly Bean instead.
If one would interpret the words from the tweet, one can say that Micromax could possible start pushing the updates to the 15 smartphones from January, 1st itself. The tweet reads, "New Year KitKat Surprise! ETA unspecified."
Here are the model numbers of the Canvas smartphones that are eligible for the updates: A250, A240, A210, A200, A117, A116, A116i, A115, A114, A113, A111, A110Q, A110, A101 and A100.
There is no information about the exact release, the company has not spoken about the update formally so far. Keep checking the update manually!
