Micromax is trying to pick up the pace in terms of launching smartphones. The India based manufacturer had slowed down since past couple of months, so as to meet the supply demand issue of its quad core phablet Canvas HD.
The tech firm is well known for its Canvas lineup of phablets including Canvas A100, A110 Canvas 2 and A116 Canvas HD, which is the advanced handset launched by the company so far. Also, there have been rumors and image leaks hinting at a successor of Canvas 2, A115 Canvas 3D, which is a phablet alleged to come with 3D support.
Now, according to a Flipkart listing, the company is all set to launch an entry-level phablet for those consumers who cannot afford to spend Rs 14,499 in buying Canvas HD. Yes, the online retailer has listed Canvas Viva A72 of unknown price and 'Coming Soon' tag.
However, the same handset has been spotted on Snapdeal at a price of Rs 6,999 with a free carry pouch. Further, the listing claims that the handset will be shipped in two working days, which means that the handset has been launched online. Also, Infibeam has listed the phablet at the same price of Rs 6,999.
As per the listing, Canvas Viva A72 sports a 5 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1GHz single core processor, Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS, dual SIM support, 256MB RAM, 110MB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3 and a 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery offering 280 hours standby and 7 hours talk time.
From the specs, it can be said that Canvas Viva A72 is the budget version of the Canvas A100 and A110 Canvas 2. For more updates on the Micromax offering, refer to Gizbot.
