Micromax has announced the launch of the dual SIM Superfone A80 smartphone. This is the new addition to the Superfone series of the Indian manufacturer. The Micromax A80 is especially designed for those users who complain that their smartphone is power hungry.
The company claims that the handset has a powerful battery that offers a longer life. The battery offers the device a talk time of seven hours and a standby time of 12 days. This is mentioned by the company and the real world figures will differ slightly.
If your don't remember, Micromax created a category of powerful and long lasting batteries while it launched the X1i, its first phone in 2008. The handset had a standby time of over a month. The A80 seems to be another one in this line.
The A80 sports a 3.7 inch touchscreen display. The handset runs on the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system. It is powered by a 2500 mAh Li-ion battery. It is a dual SIM phone with an 800 MHz processor. The processor could also be a reason for the extended battery life.
The device has a 5 MP camera at the rear with LED flash. It has connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and others that are present in standard smartphones. The handset also has a front camera of 0.3 MP resolution. This secondary camera feature facilitates the video calling. The handset supports 3G as well. It has a micro SD card slot that supports expandable memory of 32 GB.
