Micromax is on a high. And that shows from the kind of crowd reception the handset company has garnered over the past few months. However, more is on the pipeline with the company unveiling a new range of devices under ‘Yu' brand.
Focussed on the segment involving tech enthusiasts, Yu Televentures, a subsidiary of Micromax, has partnered with Cyanogen to offer customized user experience to end-users. And as reported, the first of the handsets will be launched next month. Although the details of the device and pricing were not disclosed.
"This will be a game changer not just in India but globally too. Yu has been envisioned for building an ecosystem of connected devices and offer customised experience to users," Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma said.
Also asked if the brand will affect Micromax's overall market share, Sharma disagreed. "Yu is aimed at digital natives, tech enthusiasts who want more out of their phones and are constantly doing that," Sharma said.
For the record, the Cyanogen operating system, built on Android, is already known for delivering rich software advancements that looks to optimize performance, customization, security and privacy features on mobile devices.
