Micromax Pixel A90 Vs Karbonn A18: Which One Should You Buy?
Indian smartphone market is witnessing a slew of budget dual SIM smartphone launches from several homegrown manufacturers and a few global manufacturers as well. The budget conscious market trend has started taking these low cost handsets to an all new level.
One such India based manufacturer, Micromax has made a series of releases into the market in the last couple of months including a few new Superfone series handsets. Even, Karbonn which was silent in August, came up with a dual SIM Android ICS smartphone early this week.
Consequently, here is a detailed spec comparison between the Micromax Superfone A90 Pixel and Karbonn A18, the two new dual SIM Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich based smartphones.
Display & Dimension: While the dimensions and weight of Karbonn A18 has not been disclosed by the company, Pixel A90 carries a dimension of 125 x 65 x 10.6 mm and an undisclosed weight.
Talking about the display, both the smartphones pack a 4.3 inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The difference is that the Superfone A90 Pixel has an AMOLED display while A18 has an IPS LCD display.
Operating System:In this section, both the smartphones run on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, hinting that they will be having similar touch and Swipe features.
Processor:On the processor front, both A90 Pixel and A18 fare equally with a 1GHz processor and 512MB RAM.
Camera: Superfone A90 Pixel has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP front camera, for video calling. The camera is capable of capturing high quality images and videos with amazing details.
On the other hand, A18 is equipped with a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus. The camera can capture high definition 720p videos. Also, the device comes with a 1.3MP front camera for video calling.
Storage: In this segment, both the smartphone score the same with 1GB internal memory, 512MB RAM and a micro SD card slot, which supports expandable memory of up to 32GB.
Connectivity: When it comes to the connectivity front, Superfone A90 Pixel and Karbonn A18 come packed with features like 3G, USB 2.0, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi features.
Battery:Superfone A90 Pixel is powered by a 1,600 mAh Li-ion battery which offers 5 hours talktime and 174 hours standby time while the Karbonn A18 will come loaded with 1,500 mAh battery which offers 5 hours talk time and 200 hours standby.
Price: When it comes to pricing, Micromax Superfone Pixel A90 Is priced at Rs 12,999 while Karbonn A18 is priced at Rs 9,790.
Verdict
Both the Superfone A90 Pixel and Karbonn A18 are dual SIM mid-range Android smartphones with pretty decent specifications. However, the Micromax offering comes with the company's proprietary voice assistant feature, Aisha, which lets the software enthusiasts to enjoy the Apple Siri like features on a non-Apple smartphone.
At the same time, Karbonn A18 is also preloaded with several apps like Facebook, Whatsapp, Karbonn Smart Browser, King Soft Office, NexGTv and PayTM.
Both the handsets have received good reviews and feedbacks from the consumers and of course, they are subjected to little downsides including single-core processor. But, they seem to be good products for their price tags. So your buying decision would completely depend on how much money you want to spend in your next phone upgrade.
