No one can deny that privacy remains as a major concern in this age of online threats and social networking, and Cyanogen offers a support for that. There's the Privacy Guard that will allow you to revoke permissions that you don't want apps to have. This will give you absolute control over the data on your smartphone. There's also the option to allow, deny, or ask for permission every time an app requests a certain action.

When Micromax says it has struck a deal with Cyanogen and the smartphones will now get exclusive themes from Cyanogen, it's even a bigger deal than you think. While one of the main positives of Android is in the ability to customize a device anyway you want, with the Theme Engine in Cyanogen, this customization reaches new heights. You can even edit your Style, Font, Sounds, Icon Pack, and Boot Animation.

The Superuser screen, arriving with the Cyanogen-based Micromax Yu phones, will integrate rooting permissions into Android's Settings screen. It works out to allow and disallow superuser requests from apps. And all that without the need to connect your phone to your PC or laptop.

Users of the Yu smartphones are sure to get the DSP Manager app. And in case you didn't know, it provides system-wide equalizer controls you can use to adjust the sound coming from your device. Apart from that, you can even enable bass boost, activating an equalizer, and select different presets.

The Clear Recent option is often one of the highly sought after features. And anyway it's quite a help since its clears out the entire notification area up top. Having a simple button that clears every app you have open is a great prospect, and it's good to see Cyanogen delivers on that.
