Micromax Unite 2 A106 Launched with Android 4.4 At Rs 6,999: Will Compete Against Moto E

Indian smartphone maker Micromax has today officially launched Unite 2 A106 at the price of Rs. 6,999. The Micromax Unite 2 A106 is being offered in Grey, White, Red and Green color variants. It would be available at all retail outlets in India from May 22nd.

What is amazing about the handset is that it supports 20 Indian regional languages along with English with Reverie Multilingual pack. These languages include, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Nepali, Bodo, Dogri, Konkani, Kashmiri, Maithili, Manipuri, Sanskrit and Sindhi.

In terms of specs, the feature-rich Unite 2 A106 comes with a 4.7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display.

It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and it runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), which can also be upgraded to later versions of the OS.

Imaging aspect is handled by a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and 2MP front-facing shooter. Which is pretty decent in this price range.

The latest Unite 2 houses 4GB internal memory which can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Connecitivty options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. Additionally, it is a Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) handset with dual standby mode. It is powered by a 2000 mAh battery.

Also an additional feature called MAd can be used by the users which lets you watch ads, earn points and get money added to their phone balance. Other apps include Getit, Opera Mini Browser, M!Games, M!live, Reverie phonebook and Reverie smartpad.

The latest offering of Micromax is one of the most cheapest quad core phones that one can buy in India. Xolo has a rich portfolio of affordable quad core devices. Thus Micromax Unite 2 will surely stand against these handsets.

The new Micromax phone will also rival against both Moto G and Moto E from Motorola as the specs of the phone matches with Moto G, and price range falls in Moto E's. Apart from these, Nokia X, Sony Xperia E1 and HTC Desire 210 are other possible rivals.
