Microsoft has finally shed off the Nokia tag from its Lumia devices and released the first of its kind handset. Called the Lumia 535, this is Microsoft's first official entry into the smartphone market with a handset with its own branding. And it's hoping to go the distance.
The Lumia 535, design wise, is very similar to its predecessors with a few new exceptions. While specifications might be low on the Lumia 535, the company has still made some notable changes to make the experience top notch.
While the handset has been in rumors for quite some time now, it seems its final specs aren't really that different. The smartphone comes with a 5-inch qHD screen (Gorilla Glass 3, scratch resistant glass) with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. While the screen resolution seems dated in 2014, however, one should not ignore the phone's retail price.
Microsoft has also equipped the phone with some pretty great cameras to go along with the mediocre display. The Lumia 535 features 5-megapixel front and rear-facing camera, with an LED Flash. There are also quite a number of features and apps available that allow you to make better use of the camera, especially if you plan on taking a lot of selfies with it.
The budget device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (Snapdragon 200), paired with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of native storage and a microSD card slot (up to 128GB). Also, add additional 15 GB free OneDrive storage to store all your photos or documents.
The Microsoft Lumia 535 also features a pretty beefy 1905 mAh battery. Other specs and features include exchangeable back covers, Micro SIM, Dual-SIM/Single SIM, USB 2.0, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G/2G and more.
