|

Microsoft and Nokia's IFA presentation kicked off in style today. We have been expecting a few new handsets that would carry the latest Windows Phone platform. And as expected, Microsoft today showed off its new Lumia 830 handset, while also explaining about few of its features.

As we mentioned, Nokia and Microsoft took the wraps off their latest Windows Phone device. Dubbed the Lumia 830, the handset runs the latest Windows Phone 8.1. But that isn't the only big thing it's offering.

Apparently, the new handset comes with the latest Lumia Denim update that racks up camera performance speed, among other things. Before we head over to the handset, the new Lumia Denim update needs to be mentioned about.

While the specs can wait for the time being, it has to be said that the company claims that the new handset comes with the thinnest optical stabilization module for a better imaging experience. In fact, it even took a sort of hit at both Samsung and Apple by mentioning the power of this handset compared to the high end Samsung and Apple models.

There's also a new magic wand that's been added to the camera app for the handset, dubbed Rich Capture. Although it does look a bit like an improved images brightness stabilization feature, it actually makes sure that you aren't caught between want and need for firing up the flash.

Another brilliant feature of the Lumia Denim update is that not only it captures a certain photograph, but it even captures the screen 2 seconds before that certain image was shot. This means you can relive the moments that lead to the image in the first place. Pretty awesome, huh?

Coming back to the specs for the handset, the Lumia 830 has now become Nokia and Microsoft's thinnest and lightest design offering yet. It comes with a 10MP PureView camera on the back with Zeiss optics, alongside the company's thinnest OIS module yet, hence enabling the thin frame of the phone.

Apart from that, the Lumia 830 has been constructed out of an aluminum frame with glass on the front and polycarbonate back. The phone weighs 150g and is 8.5mm thick. The handset also offers a quad-core Snapdragon chipset, wireless Charging, and a 2,200mAh battery unit inside.

The Lumia 830 is set to arrive this month, and is said to cost €330 (around Rs. 26,000). Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!
