Duel Between Motorola Atrix & Samsung Dart
Both Motorola and Samsung have engaged in bitter wars in terms of aggressive pricing and features for their models. Today we take this ongoing battle into our own hands as we compare and contrast 2 models from these brands. The models are the Motorola Atrix and the Samsung Dart.
The phone models are in the Smartphone category. The Motorola Atrix is already available in the Indian market whereas the Samsung Dart might make it into Indian shores anytime in the near future.
On comparison, we see that both Motorola Atrix and Samsung Dart employ the Android Operating Platform and thus provide a superb user interface with neatly aligned menu tabs and buttons in the main menu layout. The display resolution is of course bigger in the Motorola Atrix owing to its higher pricing and specs. The phone has a 4.3 inch full touch based capacitive display in comparison to the 3.7 inch touch screen based capacitive display of the Samsung Dart. The former is better suited for viewing video contents in HD because of the larger display size.
Being Smartphones neither of the phones will disappoint on specs pertaining to entertainment and multimedia. They have music and video playing software that are easy to use and organize. The phones have an FM radio and universal audio jack of 3.5 mm size in common. When it comes to format supports the phones have almost no issues supporting every known media format in audio and video like MP3, MP4, WMV, WAV, AAC+ and even supports playback of high definition h263 and h264 video formats.
The phones have the latest in communication and connectivity options including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G internet connectivity. But the 3G data transfer speeds in the Motorola Atrix are much faster than the Samsung Dart and offers upto 14 Mbps in comparison to the 7 Mbps of the Samsung model. Both the phones have support for 2G technologies like EDGE and GPRS.
As mentioned earlier both these models run on the Android 2.2 Froyo OS. They have support for Java and games.
The deciding factor is a comparison in price. The Motorola Atrix will cost around Rs 28000 and the Samsung Dart will be available for a mere Rs 13000. Thus for a smaller price you can enjoy almost all the benfits of the Atrix in the Dart.
