Motorola Starts Rolling Out Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For Moto X (2nd Gen) in India

Motorola is now seeding the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Moto X (2014) in India. The update brings the usual round of changes, including the all-new materialistic design, performance enhancements and features that Android 5.0 Lollipop showcases on other Nexus devices have to offer.

 

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update weighs in at 576.5MB in size and will be automatically delivered to users via over-the-air (OTA) mode.

The Moto X (2014) users can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. Motorola has also confirmed that Android 5.0 Lollipop update for other devices which will be rolled out soon.

Motorola has historically rolled out its updates slowly in India. However, with a growing user base in the country, the company has been aggressively promoting its devices and services in India.

As of now, Motorola is selling the Moto X (2014) in 16GB capacity. Soon enough, you'll get to see the 32GB variant of the device in India. There's no update about the price though.

Recent Apps (Multi-tasking)

The redesigned Overview space (formerly called Recents) will include both applications and separate activities within those applications.

Motorola Assist and Downtime

Motorola Assist integrates the new Downtime settings to control the work time you specify as Do not disturb. Motorola Assist also uses the new Interruptions settings so that you can customize exceptions, such as letting only people on your starred contacts list to get through.

Battery

The Battery settings panel now shows an estimated projection for how much time you have left while discharging or charging. You can also enable a new battery saver mode that will save power by reducing performance and most background data operations to extend your battery life.

Upgrading to Android 5.0 Lollipop:

Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.

1. Select "About phone"

2. Select "System updates"

3. Select "Download". After the software is downloaded, select "Install"

After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically
