Motorola Unveils New Moto G Forte in Mexico

Some rumors turn out to be true, while others are just baseless speculations. Rumors had been flying that Motorola would launch a rugged version of its best selling handset, the Moto G.

And even though the company officially launched the Moto G Forte in Mexico but the device is just a Moto G with a grip shell.

Yes, the new model is far less appealing, making it clear that the rugged version of the Moto G might not come early as many would've thought.

Motorola Unveils New Moto G Forte in Mexico

Rumors of the Motorola Moto G Forte for selective markets started swirling last week. Now when the device has been made official, there seems to be no reason why Motorola even considered making the Moto G Forte. Neither the phone comes with special features nor it has rugged feel to it. This isn't a ruggedized version of the Moto G.

The new Motorola Moto G Forte now comes bundled with a tough grip case shell. In India, Flipkart is offering the grip shell for an extra Rs. 999. Basically, the grip shell protects your device from bumps and drops. In case of the Moto G Forte, it will be less prone to damage. The promo page shows off must have features of the Moto G Forte. The 8GB version of the Motorola Moto G Forte is on sale from Nextel Mexico.

The phone, Motorola Moto G, features a 4.5-inch LCD display (1280 x 720), quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz , 1GB of RAM ,8GB of internal storage, Android 4.4 kitkat, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with HDR and panoramic support, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera 2,070mAh battery, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS and more.

The original version of Motorola Moto G is now available in India for Rs. 12,499 ( 8GB), while the 16GB variant will cost you Rs. 13,999. Motorola Mobility has tied up with India's largest online retailer Flipkart to sell the Moto G and Moto X.
