Motorola XPRT: An Expert Smartphone
Motorola will aim to change the common syndrome of 'small screens" associated with physical QWERTY keypads in a bar phone with the release of the new Motorola XPRT in the Indian market. A close look at the specifications will create an impression on anyone that the phone is really big. The phone is indeed of gigantic proportions not only because of its sheer size but also due to its long spec list.

Motorola XPRT is touted by many as one of the best smartphone models to be newly designed and developed by Motorola. It is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor which is a lighting fast processor and the phone supports the Android 2.2 Froyo Operating Platform tipped to be one of the most efficient OS when it comes to charge consumption.

Even though the phone has a physical keypad the phone is also a touch screen enabled device. This model lives up to the expectation of an expert Smartphone having all the desired specifications:

  1. Entertainment options range from audio and video playback which supports a number of audio formats including MP3, MP4, WAV, AAC, WMV and high definition video formats like H.263 and H.264.
  2. Connectivity options like Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0 support and WLAN. So it is easy to surf the internet at your nearest Wi-Fi Hot spot.
  3. Pre built Java environment, so that you can download all your favourite games and java based apps.
  4. Supports 3G and high speed internet surfing and downloading can be seamlessly achieved using the XPRT
  5. The Motorola XPRT comes equipped with a powerful 5 Mega Pixel camera with Autofocus and LED Flash. The camera supports video recording too.
  6. 2GB standard storage capacity that can be expanded up to 32 GB using a Micro SD slot. Phone can virtually store all your favourite songs, pictures and video clips and still have space for some more.
  7. The phone is backed up by a Li-ion 1860 mAh battery that lets you have a long talk time of 9 hours on a stretch and offers up to 380 hours of standby time.

Well now you must have clearly understood why this phone is perceived as gigantic. Are you expecting a price in excess of 10,000 and so? Well, you are in for surprise here. The Motorola XPRT is slated for launch in the second quarter of 2011 and is expected to have a price tag of only around Rs 7000. Thus the Motorola XPRT will surely be a phone to watch out for this year.
