MTS packs Samsung Galaxy Y CDMA with Unlimited Data
Renowned CDMA operator in India, MTS has launched Samsung Galaxy Y CDMA phone bundled with its connection for a price of Rs 7,500. MTS currently has a subscriber base of around 16 million. As part of its marketing effort to attract more customers, MTS is offering unlimited data usage for the first three months with a high speed data cap of 1 GB along with the Samsung Galaxy Y CDMA smartphone.
The subscribers will also be able to make free local calls to other MTS phones for the first three months. The phones will be available for purchase from MTS stores across the country and also from popular retail stores.
The CDMA version of Samsung Galaxy Y smartphone was introduced by Samsung after the entry level GSM enabled smartphone became highly popular with the Indian consumers. Samsung Galaxy Y CDMA phone has features similar to that of the GSM phone.
The device runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It also comes along with a 2 mega pixel rear camera which is capable of capturing pictures at decent clarity. The device has a 3 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen and is powered by an 800 MHz processor.
Samsung Galaxy Y CDMA phone has an inbuilt FM Radio and accommodates connectivity features like Wi-Fi. The phone will also support EVDO network of MTS with a speed of 3.1 Mbps. Storage capacity can be expanded to up to 32 GB using the microSD card slot.
MTS plans to broaden its user base by bundling this widely popular smartphone along with its offerings.
