It seems that BlackBerry would continue making handsets in the near future. On Tuesday, BlackBerry has officially announced two new handsets at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Spain.
Both the handsets, the BlackBerry Z3 and Q20, runs BlackBerry's latest 10.2.1 OS. BlackBerry aims to target emerging markets such as Indonesia and India with its newest BB 10 OS powered handsets.
The BlackBerry Z3 will first hit Indonesian market in April under $200 (Rs. 12,600 approximately), whereas the BlackBerry Q20 will be launched in the second half of 2014.
BlackBerry has recently signed a five-year deal with Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn. Under the contract, Foxconn will design and produce BlackBerry's Z3 and Q20. BlackBerry will provide software and profits will be shared by both parties.
BlackBerry Q3: Highlighted Features
The BlackBerry Z3, which was known as "Jakarta", is a full-touch smartphone. The company plans to release the phone in Indonesian market first, followed by launch in select markets sometime in future. Initially, the BlackBerry Z3 would come with 3G connectivity (only in Indonesia). Though, the company has plans in place to launch the phone with 4G LTE connectivity. The BlackBerry Z3 features a modern design with a 5-inch display, long lasting battery and comes with BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1 out of the box, notes the official press release.
BlackBerry Q20: Highlighted Features
Unlike the BlackBerry Z3, which supports full-touch display, the BB Q20, on the other hand, incorporates QWERTY-keypad and acclaimed trackpad. The device will flaunt a 3.5-inch touch display and a large battery fitted inside. The company will share more details during the launch of BB Q20. It will be officially launched sometime in the second half of this year.
