MWC 2014: Motorola Moto X Coming To India In Next Few Weeks, What More?

Motorola Mobility may not have a vibrant portfolio as Samsung or Sony, but that doesn't mean the company might witness a bleak future without Google in the coming months of 2014. Already the American mobile maker has created waves in the Indian market after the Moto G launch at highly affordable price points. And now it looks like the company is all geared up to launch Motorola Moto X in India by next week.

Moto X Coming to India Next Week

Motorola Moto X, a rival device to Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, features a 4.7-inch 720p HD AMOLED display, 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of on-board storage, 10MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing shooter, and lastly 2200mAh battery fitted inside. The Moto X runs Android 4.4.2 Kitkat of the box.

Moto X Successor Coming soon

Additionally, Motorola also added that the company's next-generation Moto X might go official sometime in the late summer 2014. Though, the Moto G maker refused to share more details around the purported device, but Motorola smartphone lovers can expect a Moto X successor dubbed as Moto X2 really soon.

Motorola Smartwatch

Beyond the arrival of second-generation Moto X, Motorola has shown its excitement in the wearable computing devices business.

According to the tech vendor, Motorola's first-generation smartwatch is expected to go official by this year. The company says they are strong with sensor development. Therefore, it does make sense to enter wearable computing devices market in 2014. The intelligent watch, which Motorola is currently developing, will be high on style and design. No word on the release date was shared during the press event. But with the below tweet Motorola has confirmed on the rumors of the upcoming smartwatch.

Moto Maker Heading to Mexico and Western Europe

In the same press conference which took place in MWC 2014, happening in Barcelona Spain Motorola also announced that the company will introduce Moto Maker to countries outside US including Mexico and Western Europe by the second quarter of this year. For those who are not aware, Moto Maker is Motorola's online studio where you can create your Moto X and customise its look and feel as per your requirement.

Earlier this year, Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility from Google in a deal valued at staggering USD $2.91 billion. The acquisition allows Lenovo to enter mature markets like the USA.
