MWC 2014: ZTE Open C, Open II And Grand Memo II LTE Phablet Launched
While Huawei grabbed world headlines by showcasing its first ever wearable device, ZTE, on the other hand, launched two new smartphones running Firefox OS at the Mobile World Congress in Spain. Additionally, the company also announced its Grand Memo II LTE phablet, a 6-inch 720p HD phablet with Snapdragon 400 processor and 4G LTE connectivity.
Back in 2013, Chinese handset manufacturer ZTE showed its faith in Firefox OS. The tech vendor released ZTE Open. It was a huge hit in ZTE's native market. Now, the company launched two new affordable handsets running Firefox OS, the Open C and Open II.
ZTE says the company plans to sell as many as 1 million Firefox OS powered handset this year.
ZTE Open C - Highlighted Specifications
The ZTE Open C comes with a 4-inch WVGA display having a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Under the hood, we can see a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (MSM8210) Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC, backed by 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. The makers have added a 1400mAh battery. There's a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera given on the back. The device does come with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. ZTE says the device will be in Telefónica in Venezuela and Uruguay during the second quarter of 2014.
ZTE Open II - Highlighted Specifications
Unlike the Open C, which has a large display, the Open II features a slightly smaller screen. There's a 3.5-inch display having a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 256MB of RAM and 2GB of internal memory. The phone comes with a 2MP rear-facing camera, 3G connectivity and lastly 1150mAh battery.
Unfortunately, ZTE hasn't announced its plans to release the Open C and Open II in Indian market. In fact, the original ZTE Open wasn't made available in India due to lack of carrier support.
ZTE Grand Memo II LTE- Highlighted Specifications
The ZTE Grand Memo II LTE is a clear answer to Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G, which was announced earlier this year at CES. The Grand Memo II LTE features a massive 6-inch 720p HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13 -megapixel rear-facing camera and front-facing 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.
