It sound like the Galaxy S6 will be more profitable piece of hardware for Samsung than the Galaxy Note 4. Unlike the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung may announce a new variant of the Galaxy S6 with a dual SIM connectivity.
However, it looks like it won't be long before users looking to buy the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be able to choose between a standard model and the one with a dual SIM, as some recent reports suggest that Samsung is preparing a Galaxy S6 Duos model for release.
The report was originally published a few weeks back, which claimed the Galaxy S6 Duos would be made available in Russia, at a slightly higher price tag. Now it would not be very surprising if Samsung reveals a new Galaxy S6 Duos model, knowing that this is exactly what users have been demanding.
Today, the Galaxy S6 Duos has been spotted again, courtesy of journalist Antonio Monaco on Twitter. The leaked shots show the Galaxy S6 with two nano-SIM card slots. The model number of the Galaxy S6 Duos variant is reported to be SM-G9200.
According to some media reports, the Galaxy S6 Duos could have a higher price tag, indicating that it might be a flagship model.
Furthermore, the Galaxy S6 Duos is likely to have the same specifications and features. Its spec includes a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display, Samsung's very own Exynos 7420 octa-core (2.1GHz quad-core+1.5GHz quad-core) chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel camera at the front, 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage, and a 2,550mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving Mode, wireless charging options, Android 5.0 Lollipop and 4G LTE connectivity.
The Galaxy S6 Duos is expected to hit a few select markets. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be made available in India on April 10.
The Galaxy S6 Edge, which has the dual edge screen, is priced at Rs 58,900 (32GB), Rs 64,900 (64GB) and Rs 70,900 (128 GB); while the Galaxy S6 costs Rs 49,900 (32GB), Rs 55,900 (64GB) and Rs 60,900 (128GB).
