New Sony Xperia Z2 Smartphone With 2.3 GHz Qualcomm CPU Released: Top 10 Competitors To Consider
The Xperia Z2 is Sony's first shot at making a smartphone where the specs and design goes hand-in-hand. Last year's Xperia Z1 was an honest attempt to create a buzz around "reinvented Sony".
This year, in particular, Sony applied logic behind introducing the second-generation Xperia Z2. It has a large display, beefy hardware and better camera.
Being Sony made device, it is hard to ignore phone's camera. Sony says "We have redefined the smartphone once again through our camera. Xperia Z2 offers an innovative experience that captures memories in stunning detail through 4K video shooting, or offers new ways to use the camera with our unique Xperia camera apps".
There'd a 20.7 megapixel camera with 1/2.3-type Exmor RS for mobile CMOS image sensor, G Lens and intelligent BIONZ for mobile image processing engine. The company says the Xperia Z2's rear-facing camera produces superb photo and video quality.
Users can shoot videos in 120 frames per second with Xperia Z2's rear-facing camera. Also, the 20.7MP camera now allows you to record videos in 4K format.
Other than the camera, the Sony Xperia Z2 incorporates a 5.2-inch Full HD TRILUMINOS display for mobile with Live Colour LED. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 2.3Ghz quad-core processor powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Krait CPUs , 4G LTE, Adren 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The makers have added a large 3200 mAh battery fitted inside.
This dust-resistant and waterproof (IP55 & IP58) phone runs Android 4.4 Kitkat with Sony's native UI on the top of it.
Sony says the Xperia Z2 will go on sale worldwide starting March this year. No word on price was informed.
In the meantime, let's have a look at top 10 smartphones that could challenge Sony in the high-end market.
