In-line with the rumors, Apple at their Keynote event launched the much anticipated iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. These smartphones don't greatly differ from the rumors surfaced online till date, but comes with some noteworthy features.

The new iPhones come with several new features which they are widely known for. They have beautiful displays, pack powerful hardware, and they are now water resistant as well.

Also, the new iPhones ship with all new iOS 10, which allows you to book a ride directly by asking Siri to do so.

Gorgeous New Design

The design is beautiful and redesigned as well. The smartphones are made up of high-grade aluminum. Both the new smartphones are available in five different colors- Jet Black, Black, Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold. The antenna band lines are now not visible on the black variant of the smartphones and they look insanely good.

Water Resistant

The newly announced iPhones are the first ones to feature water resistant properties. Both the smartphones will be protected by the IP67 protection standard.

Touch ID is Now More Customizable

Apple has revamped the Touch ID on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The Touch ID on the new generation iPhones is force sensitive and also features a much more responsive haptic engine to meet the Apple's wide range of product portfolio. However, it isn't clickable as well.

Bigger Camera Sensors

The Apple iPhone 7 comes with a 12MP rear camera with support for the OIS and also the f/1.8 aperture and six-piece lens. Also, there is quad-tone LED flash, which captures 60 percent better low-light images. On the front, there is a 7MP front-facing camera with a wide color capture system and has support for Auto Image Stabilization.

On the other hand, the iPhone 7 Plus will feature two 12MP cameras on the rear with one camera working as a wide-angle camera while the other camera works as a telephoto camera. The camera app on the iPhone 7 Plus is tweaked to support the dual rear camera. Other features such as OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), quad-tone LED flash are present in the iPhone 7 Plus as well.


Retina HD Display

Both the new iPhones feature the same display sizes as their predecessors and stands at 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus respectively. The display has gained some upgrades internally as they are 25 percent brighter than the last year's iPhones. They do offer better wide color gamut and also has upgraded for better 3D Touch response.

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Audio

For the first time, Apple's iPhones are manufactured using stereo speakers. There are two stereo speakers on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which are located on top and bottom of the smartphones and Apple claims that they sound incredibly great.

Bye Bye 3.5mm Headphone Jack

As expected, Apple ditched the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of the lightning cable port. Both the new iPhones will use the new lightning cable port and Apple will be bundling the lightning cable earpods with the retail box along with a lightning cable to 3.5mm audio jack port converter.

Wireless Apple AirPods

Apple believes in wireless future and the company now launched a new product dubbed as the Apple AirPods. The AirPods uses a new technology which is not linked to Bluetooth. They have a small chip called as the ‘W1' wireless chip and they can be easily carried everywhere.

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Performance

The new generation iPhones packs an Apple A10 Fusion, which is 40 percent faster than the last year's A9 chip. Also, the chipset is now quad-core one, which is twice as fast as the Apple A8 chip. The smartphones also see an upgrade in the graphics performance as well.

Battery sizes

As per Apple, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have the longest battery life on any iPhone released till date. The iPhone 7 is said to deliver nearly 40 percent more than that of its predecessor- iPhone 6S and the iPhone 7 Plus will an hour battery life more than that of the iPhone 6S Plus.

Last but not least, the Apple iPhone 7 comes with a price tag starting from USD 649 while the iPhone 7 Plus comes with a price tag starting from USD 769 for the US market. As far as the availability is concerned the both the iPhones will be available for pre-order starting from Sept 09 and will be shipped from Sept 16.
