Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 launching in few hours: Here's all that you need to know

Alcatel today is all set to unveil the second generation variant of the last year launched OneTouch Flash smartphone in an online press conference, later today.

The company has been teasing the launch of the OneTouch Flash 2 smartphone through an online campaign, and on social media channels, for this will be one of the major launches for the company. The event will be live streamed on Alcatel's website.

Apart from Alcatel, Xiaomi too will finally be unveiling the much-rumored Mi4C smartphone in China today, while Lenovo will be launching the Vibe Shot in India, in just about a few hours.

Specifications of the Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2:

There are very few specifications details known about the upcoming smartphone, though the ‘The Power of Green' teaser posters under put by the company indicate a 5-inch display on the phone, while the first OneTouch Flash had a 5.5-inch screen, and also hint a higher-megapixel rear camera.

While nothing is certain about its specs, one thing is sure that the phone will have camera as its USP, considering that the company has put focus on the camera photography with its advanced camera technology, and has highlighted the camera even in the teaser video of the phone. As seen in the teaser image of the Flash 2, the phone might have a metal ring around the camera lens. Considering that the OneTouch Flash featured a 13MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash, we expect the upcoming Flash 2 to bring a noticeable upgrade in the camera department.

Considering that the OneTouch Flash is powered by an octa-core MediaTek processor with 2GB if RAM, we may see a similar or better chipset and RAM on the upcoming OneTouch Flash 2 smartphone.

"The power of green" in the posters could mean that the phone gets eco-friendly hardware or a specific feature that is eco friendly in nature. Well that's just a thought, and may not turn true! Also, though the teaser shows black chassis on the phone, we might as well see a green coloured variant. More can be said only when the company reveals the phone.

Alcatel in India:

Alcatel has a few smartphones available in India, and recently brought the Alcatel SmartWatch range exclusively through Flipkart in the country. The smartwatch is is equipped with a 1.22-inch screen; includes a heart-rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter and e-compass, with multiple fitness functions; packs in a 210mAh battery; and runs its own OS though it supports Android and iOS smartphones via Bluetooth 4.0. It is priced at Rs 7,999.
