Design
The Apple iPhone 6 came with major design changes, but the 'S' update will see a very little changes or updates on the external looks. Apple will stick with the same design and size. However, rumors have also pointed for minor exterior design changes and also added a new Rose Gold color option.
iOS
The next-generation iPhone will be equipped with Apple's new operating system - iOS 9. The new Apples mobile operating system comes with massive updates to Siri, Apple Pay and also new News app.
Processor
The new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are expected to be powered by an A9 processor. The processor is said to use almost 35 percent less energy and offers more power. The processor will be paired with 2GB of RAM.
Camera
According to many rumors, Apple will make a significant jump from its 8 megapixels camera to 12 megapixels. The camera possibly to feature an optical image stabilizer and autofocus. Meanwhile, another rumor pointed out that the camera is expected to capture DSLR quality pictures.
Battery
The battery might not receive any major updates. However the improvements in the new iOS including the new A9 chipset will improve the battery life of the iPhone 6S.
Storage
It looks like the lowest storage offering will be 16GB. But, as the next iPhone will be powered by the latest iOS 9, which means we can expect that smartphone will come with 64GB and 128GB models.
USB Type-C
USB Type-C are becoming popular these days and we expect that the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus could be featuring the USB-C port just like the new 12 inch MacBook.
Touch ID
Some rumors also pointed out about the Touch ID for the next-generation iPhone. The Touch ID will provide a better Apple Pay experience.

Release Date
The device is expected to launch at Apple's annual keynote in the month of September. The Apple Annual keynote is expected to happen on September 9.
